The Element Technica Quasar Rig, capable of a side-by-side, under/through and over/through configuration (pictured on the right).

The Element Technica Dark Country Rig (DC rig) is a lightweight rig, originally designed for SI2K cameras. But it's also well suited for other small cameras.
An ideal rig for handheld or steadycam shoots.

The Element Technica Neutron rig has been ordered, and will be available in August 2010.

The PMW-350 offers all the advanced creative recording features of the PMW-EX1 compact camcorder, plus enhancements such as a Scene File System and 4 channel audio, in 2/3 inch body with Exmor full-HD CMOS sensor.

The PMW-350 supports multiple frame rate recording such as 25P and 50p as well as being 1080i/720P switchable. There is also a choice of a 35Mb/s High Quality mode, 25Mb/s HDV 1080i compatible mode and optional 25Mb/s Standard Definition DVCAM recording.

Twin memory card slots support up to 280 minutes HD recording time using two 32GB SxS memory cards.

Capable of recording Video at significantly higher Bit-Rates (max 100mb/sec)
and color (4:2:2), producing far better quality.

The NanoFlash holds two CF cards. Each 32GB card holds around 40 minutes of the highest quality footage.

We've expanded our line of 35mm macro lenses with a new set of Arri Macro's.

16mm/24mm/32mm/40mm/50mm/100mm/200mm now available, along with our older Arri Media macro lenses, the 65mm and the 135mm.

A new set prime lenses for the very popular Canon EOS 7D en 5D.

Consisting of six lenses, a 20mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm.
All original Nikon Nikkor manual focus lenses, with a new Canon EOS adapter. There is no additional cropfactor.

ARRI, represented by Frank van Vught, visited Camalot to offer us a quick sneak peak of the new ALEXA camera complete with electronic viewfinder.

Bastiaan Houtkoper was available to test the alexa next to a Red Mysterium-X camera, and we we're all very impressed with the results..

Delivery is scheduled for the last week of June.

A small, wearable HD camera, capable of capturing 1080p at 30fps (15Mb/sec) or 720p at 60fps (8Mb/sec).
The camera comes with a 60 meter waterproof housing and several mounting options for helmets or tripods.
Other features include a f2.8 lens and a built-in microphone with noise cancellation.

Inside the camera is a rechargeable battery (through USB power, adapter included) for up to 2.5 hours of shooting.
Two 8GB SD Cards give you 2 hours of recording time at 1080p.

The new Mysterium-X sensor has arrived and has now been fitted into twelve of our Red cameras.

The sensor is still 320 ASA but easily pushable to 800 ASA.

Rolling shutter effect is much improved, more colour depth at higher ASA levels. The noise is extremely low all the way to 1000 ASA, and even above that, it's fairly mild. But what's important to note is how the noise looks. In 3200K, it no longer has that chunky blue noise look of the old Red sensor in earlier builds, it's a tight, smooth noise that is more like mild film grain -- the noise at 1000 ASA looks like the grain of a 200 ASA film stock.

The ARRIFLEX D-21 is a film style digital camera that combines the immediacy of digital cameras with high-end film style functionality and creative options. Based on innovative ARRI Imaging Technology, the D-21 produces outstanding images with a cinematic look and feel. Through its single, Super 35 sized CMOS sensor, the D-21 uses the same lenses as 35mm film cameras. It also has the same cinematic depth of field.

It has a bright optical viewfinder, is capable of variable frame rates (50fps) and is compatible with ARRI film camera accessories. The D-21 is capable of outputting raw data, but we went with HDCAM SR recording with a 4:4:4 HD signal, and with 4:2:2 HD on the Aja KiPro.

In June we will receive our Alexa EV (electronic viewfinder) and at the end of the year the D-21 will be replaced by the Alexa OV (optical viewfinder).

The D-21 comes in a set with the SRW-1 HDCAM SR recorder, or with the Aja KiPro recorder.

Camalot received an epic visit on friday the 12th of february. Ted Schilowitz, first employee of Red, came to our rental house and showed a prototype Epic 5K camera, a prototype scarlet with a mini prime lens and a bomb evf.
